Memorial Day: Honoring Tradition

Memorial Day: Honoring Traditions and Embracing Stylish Men’s Fashion Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend signaling the start of summer. It’s a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country. As we pay tribute to their memory, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate the freedom they fought to preserve by spending time with family, enjoying outdoor activities, and yes, showcasing some great fashion. In this blog, we’ll explore how to strike the perfect balance between respecting the solemnity of the day and embracing the season’s latest men’s fashion trends. 1. The Essence of Memorial Day Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, has its roots in the aftermath of the Civil War. Originally known as Decoration Day, it was a time for decorating the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers. Today, it’s a federal holiday where many participate in parades, visit cemeteries and memorials, and observe a moment of silence at 3 PM local time. Understanding and honoring these traditions is crucial, even as we enjoy barbecues and beach outings. 2. Men’s Fashion Trends for Memorial Day Memorial Day marks a pivotal point in the fashion calendar, transitioning from spring to summer. Here are some top trends to consider: Casual Comfort: Opt for light, breathable fabrics. Cotton and linen are perfect for staying cool. Think tailored shorts paired with a crisp polo shirt or a lightweight button-down. Patriotic Palette: Incorporate red, white, and blue into your outfit subtly. A navy blue shirt with white chinos and red accessories (like a belt or shoes) can show your patriotic spirit without overdoing it. Smart Casual: If you’re attending a more formal event, consider a lightweight blazer. A linen blazer in a neutral color over a simple T-shirt or a short-sleeved shirt can strike the perfect balance between polished and relaxed. Footwear Focus: Loafers and boat shoes are excellent choices for a versatile look. They pair well with both shorts and chinos, offering comfort and style. 3. Outfit Ideas for Various Memorial Day Activities Barbecue with Family and Friends: A pair of chino shorts, a casual striped T-shirt, and boat shoes. Accessorize with a cap and sunglasses for a relaxed yet stylish vibe. Attending a Parade or Ceremony: Opt for khaki pants or dark jeans with a button-down shirt. A lightweight blazer adds a touch of formality without being overly stuffy. Comfortable loafers or clean white sneakers complete the look. Beach or Pool Party: Swim trunks in a bold color or pattern paired with a simple, solid-colored T-shirt. Flip-flops or espadrilles are perfect for this setting. Don’t forget a stylish straw hat to protect from the sun. 4. Accessorizing the Memorial Day Look Hats: A straw fedora or a classic baseball cap can protect you from the sun while adding a stylish touch. Sunglasses: Aviators or wayfarers are timeless choices that complement most face shapes. Watches: A sleek, water-resistant watch can be both functional and fashionable, especially if you’re spending the day outdoors. 5. Final Touch: The Importance of Details Attention to detail can elevate a simple outfit. Consider adding a pocket square if you’re wearing a blazer or cuffing your shorts for a trendy look. Even small details like a leather belt or a beaded bracelet can make a big difference.

Dressing For Fathers Day: Mens Guide

Intro Father’s Day is a special occasion to celebrate the remarkable dads in our lives. Whether you're planning a family brunch, an intimate dinner, or a day out filled with activities, dressing the part can add to the day’s festivities. Here’s a guide to help men dress professionally and stylishly for Father’s Day, ensuring you look your best for those treasured moments. And because it's Father’s Day, expect a few dad jokes along the way! 1. Understand the Occasion Before selecting an outfit, consider the type of event you'll be attending: Casual Brunch: If it’s a relaxed gathering at a café or home, you can lean towards smart-casual attire. Formal Dinner: For a more elegant evening, a suit or a smart blazer is appropriate. Outdoor Activities: Comfortable yet polished outfits are key for park visits or outdoor adventures. 2. Smart-Casual for a Relaxed Brunch Shirt: Opt for a crisp, well-fitted button-down shirt. Light colors such as white, pastel blue, or soft pink are perfect for daytime events. Pants: Pair your shirt with chinos or tailored trousers in neutral shades like beige, navy, or gray. Shoes: Leather loafers or clean, minimalist sneakers strike the right balance between comfort and style. Accessories: A sleek belt and a classic watch can complete your look. 3. Elegance for a Formal Dinner Suit: A well-tailored suit in navy, charcoal, or black is a timeless choice. Ensure it fits well at the shoulders and waist for a sharp silhouette. Shirt: A crisp white dress shirt is a safe and stylish choice. For a touch of personality, consider a subtle pattern or color. Tie: A silk tie in a complementary color or a tasteful pattern can add a touch of elegance. Shoes: Classic leather oxfords or brogues in black or brown will complete your formal attire. Accessories: Cufflinks, a pocket square, and a quality watch can elevate your look. 4. Comfortable Yet Polished for Outdoor Activities Shirt: A well-fitted polo shirt or a casual button-down can be both comfortable and stylish. Breathable fabrics like cotton or linen are ideal. Pants: Chinos or tailored shorts in a neutral color offer comfort without sacrificing style. Shoes: Comfortable loafers or casual sneakers are perfect for staying active. Accessories: A sun hat or sunglasses can add a practical yet stylish touch. 5. Tips for All Outfits Fit is Key: No matter the occasion, ensuring your clothes fit well is essential. Ill-fitting attire can ruin even the most stylish outfit. Attention to Detail: Small touches like ironing your shirt, polishing your shoes, and ensuring your belt matches your shoes can make a big difference. Grooming: A fresh haircut, neatly trimmed facial hair, and a pleasant fragrance can enhance your overall appearance. Conclusion Dressing well on Father’s Day is not just about looking good; it’s about showing respect for the occasion and the people you’re celebrating with. Whether you’re enjoying a laid-back brunch, a formal dinner, or an adventurous day out, this guide can help you choose the perfect outfit. Remember, confidence is the best accessory you can wear. Happy Father’s Day!

Rental V.S. Purchase

Congratulations!!! You have popped the BIG question and are now searching to find outfits for you and your crew (aka wedding members).  Rentals Sure rentals are easy, convenient and, inexpensive compared to the price of purchasing the outfit. Most rentals are around $300 depending on your time frame on necessity and style of Tux/Suit you pick out. While most rentals do come in slim & classic fits, you must keep in mind "IT"S A RENTAL" & it's constructed to fit multiple body types in that size. Typically the only alterations a shop are available to do is the length of the sleeves and pants. So be sure to use a try on garment if available to get a sense of how the rental will fit on you. The Styles you can choose from in rentals are going to be pretty basic Black,Charcoal, Light Grey, Tan, & maybe a couple patterned suits but mostly solids. You will have a variety of colors / patterens to choose from in the vest and tie options making it seamless to coordinate with the bridesmaids dresses. Now notice I said "coordinate" because the material of the dress maybe a little off, the colors might not match up, but that is OK.  In conclusion my expert opinion, for the best results, is to rent for your wedding party and for the groom purchase.   Purchase Purchasing is more of an investment & the way that you can get your favorite Pintrest wedding outfit designed as you imagined. Off the rack is great for smaller wedding parties of 4-6.The price point of purchase will start at $300 (Off the Rack) and go up from there depending on the quality of the material. This is the best way for everyone to get the fit they want in the same color altered the way they see fit. To finish you can always rent the vest or tie that matches the bridesmaids or fine a purchase tie that matches well. Custom Suiting is my recommendation at least for the groom because it is made to your body, you can choose the fabric, color, pattern, buttons, liner, etc that best fits your big day image. Its also a lot of fun picking out a suit just made for you. Now they can be pricey starting out at $900 and going up because of the fabric and extra you can add but you won't regret it. All in all if you purchase there in no limit to your options for your big day.
